An Avant Garde Contemporary Art and Installation Exhibition 
Grace Li Wang Art Gallery is pleased to announce the Gallery Opening Exhibition: “Atmospheres”, on view September 3 – October 19, 2002. The public is invited to the opening reception on Saturday, September 7, 2002, from 2 - 6pm.The exhibition will feature work from 3 contemporary artists: Mia Yoon will present the “Sign and Symbols Series” and the “Sensorium” Series. A conceptual abstractionist working in electrical lights and 3 dimensions, as well as encaustic oil paintings, Mia’s work has the illusion of mystery and her work is seemingly not just painting or sculpture. She will show her art using a variety of materials including encaustic oil works with plexiglass, metal wire, plastic tube and collages. A statement from Mia... Greg Plachta will show his new infrared fine art photographs in 3 groups: botanical abstracts with leaves, flowers and plants; close up views of tall grasses and grains in fields and gardens, and his signature work: travel photographs from Italy, Thailand, France and Mexico. The infrared images are very soft and dreamy-like which transcend the ethereal and spiritual emotions. The images are cropped in camera and the entire negative is presented. A statement from Greg... Grace Li Wang will exhibit her signature series, “Nature: Impressions of the Soul.” Her work is known for the dramatic colors and stylized forms in both representational and abstract presentations. Her media is 2 dimensional work executed in acrylic, oil, pastels and mixed media. She has recently had 2 solo exhibitions in Nanjing, China, including the Yan Xhen Qing Museum in May 2002.
